Murrur performing. Image source unknown.

info

The performance/ concert was part of Voices & noises sound gathering / seminar, organised in Helsinki 2008.

One needs the emergency reinstallation disk for computer very rarely. It is never the less one of those only disks which you never wish to disappear or be destroyed accidentally. Very few people would want to destroy it intentionally. When computer is destroyed it is maybe most important disk in the world.

I destroyed in the performance reinstallation cd by scratching it, by hammering it with spike and by cutting pieces out of it. Spikes, knifes and ballpoint pens created music while they destroyed the life saver. A contact microphone was attached to the dying disk which made it all very loud. The files screamed as they were cut in half and the images cried as they ceased to exist.
